Acrobat is usually the only
option if you are using a program
that we do not have or your
file is too big to email. When
creating a file that you will
be sending us as a PDF please
follow the following guidelines.
Acrobat should only be
used for files that will be
printed in 4 color or 1 color.
There may be some exceptions,
please contact us if you will
be printing in 2 colors and
need to send via PDF.
All files must be created
at 300 dpi in the parent program
you are creating your piece
in.
To make your pdf in any program
other than Adobe Illustrator
you must have a Adobe Distiller
installed on your computer.
Design your file like you would
normally in your desired program,
then when you are ready to send
us the file you need to print
your document using the Distiller
as your Printer. There should
be a properties button in the
printer window, click it. There
will be a drop down for the
quality, select press or print
quality. Click ok and click
ok again. If done correctly
a "Save as" window
should pop up. Selection the
destination and name and click
save.
Your pdf should open in Acrobat
when it is finished, if not
you can navigate to it and open
it manually to make sure everything
show up properly on the pdf.
If your document bleeds you
must pull your bleeds 1/8 of
an inch from the edge of your
documen before creating the
PDF. You also must make crop
marks on the document after
you've pulled your bleeds. Instructions
to doing this varies from program
to program, we may be
able to instruct you on how
to do so if you need help.
If you are using a program
we are not familiar with and
you cannot make crop marks we
will attempt to create them
on our end. Please be aware
of where crop marks are placed
on the proof you will receive
from us and make sure the cut
line is where you'd intended.
You can send the PDF via email
to our graphics department or
your service representative.
If edits are needed after you
send the document we will first
see if we can edit them on our
end, if not, we will need to
have you correct the problem
and send us a new PDF.
