Brochures
A brochure is a very effective way to leave someone with a wealth of information about your company and products or services. A well-designed brochure will give your potential customer an overview of what you are offering them.
Five types of brochures:
Leave-Behind - A leave behind brochure is one that you give a potential client after you’ve met and discussed your services. This brochure should re-examine the points that you plan to go over in your first meeting as well and more in depth information a potential client may need to know that would entice them into taking the next step in working with you.
Point-of-Sale - Point-of-Sale brochures are brochures that are left out in an area where potential customers often are found such as rack card displays in hotels, banks and doctor’s offices. When designing one of these cards you need to give as much introductory information about your products or services as you can keeping in mind that the potential reader knows nothing about you or your product.
Respond to Inquiries - This type of brochure is unique in that you know already that the person that will be reading this brochure has an interest in you or your product so you do not need to spend that real estate just trying to get the reader to open up your brochure in the first place. Design this brochure to explain how they can get from their current interest through the buying process. Add in facts about your product or services that will drive home the fact that they can’t live without your product.
Direct Mail - This is a brochure that accompanies other pieces in a mailing. You know that you letter will get you sales, but adding in a brochure allows you to add pictures and main bullets that would otherwise be buried in the text of a letter. Take this opportunity to reinforce any main points you’ve already written in your letter or other portions of your mailer.
Sales Support - Very similar to Leave-Behind brochures, this is used in much the same way with the exception that when the reader receives this they are already talking to a salesman. This can be used as a guide to walk through the sale pitch. It is meant as a sales aid more than something that will solely do the selling for you.
